Everybody’s hungry. You need a nice, cool place to eat where the kids are welcome. We scoured 30A to find the best places to make-a-date with your child. We think you (and the kids) will be pleased.
Twin Oaks Farm Stand, Grayton Beach
Hours: 7am-6pm, Daily
For the most important meal of the day, Twin Oaks Farm Stand is the perfect place for simple, fresh-from-the-farm goodness. The all-organic menu boasts kid-friendly items such as omelets, frittatas and sandwiches, in addition to gluten-free and Paleo options. Bring a sense of sophisticated fun to breakfast with formal tea service, and leave with the knowledge that your little one has dined on local, farm-to-table cuisine.
Roselie Dining & Seafood Bar, 30Avenue at Inlet Beach
Hours: 11am-10pm, Monday-Friday (closed Tuesday)
Roselie provides a refined casual dining experience that doesn’t forget about the kids. Secondary to its coastal menu are the staples of childhood fare: mac-n-cheese, burgers, chicken fingers, and ramen. For a teething toddler, try tiny dippers (sweet potato puree, grits) or little grabbers (turkey, cheese, crackers, and apples). The most fun item at Roselie isn’t on the menu, however, but tucked away in the front of the restaurant: the children’s hangout zone. Here, the kids will find bean bag chairs, an art station, and toys—the perfect recipe for keeping a child until food arrives.
Havana Beach Bar & Grill at The Pearl, Rosemary Beach
When it’s parent-child date night, do it right. It doesn’t get any more right than the four-diamond dining experience inspired by Hemingway’s Cuba at Havana Beach Bar & Grill. For the child with a refined palate, consider artisan cheeses and charcuterie, or choose the charred octopus for an adventurous eater. From its local-producers-only dining philosophy to the pristine curation of atmosphere, a meal at Havana Beach Bar & Grill announces graduation to the adult table.
La Crema, Rosemary Beach
11 am-9 pm, Daily (10 pm on Friday and Saturday)
Just steps from The Pearl, nestled among the shops of Rosemary Beach is La Crema, a one-of-a-kind experience for chocolate lovers. Chocolate soup, chocolate fondue, chocolate dipped bacon—are we speaking your language yet? How about hot chocolate molten cake or chocolate and churros? For the picky eater, classic chocolate chip cookies are on standby, served with a shooter of ice cold milk. If you need something to cut all that sweetness, try the salted caramel ice cream.
